July marks not only our nation’s independence, which our service men and women continue to protect today, but also the Month of the Military Consumer.

DCBA is proud to help protect and serve, those that protect and serve the entire nation.

If you are a service-member or their dependent, you face unusual financial and personal challenges. You may find it difficult to meet your financial obligations while serving your country.

DCBA is committed to listening to the needs of military consumers and their loved ones, providing a unique form for them to file a complaint about any consumer issue they may have.

Fortunately, there are a few laws in place that assist military consumers and their families. Knowing your legal rights is the first step to ensuring financial freedom for your entire family.

The Federal Trade Commission also has several resources catered to helping military consumers earn, spend, borrow, and invest their money wisely.

Are you a business owner who served in the armed forces? Los Angeles County has procurement opportunities for you. The County’s goal is to get 25 percent of all County contracts awarded to certified local small businesses and three percent of all County contracts awarded to Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBEs). Contact our Office of Small Business to learn more about this certification and how to do business with the County.

DCBA makes it convenient for consumers to report their concerns online, over the phone, and in person. We provide consumer news and updates through our social media platforms and our website, including the latest scam alerts.
