What is the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC)?

The Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs (DCBA) operates the Los Angeles County Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC). The PTAC helps your business compete for government contracts by connecting you to:

Workshops to prepare you for the government contracting process

Local, state and federal contracting opportunities relevant to your industry

Training on how to market your goods and services to government buyers

Networking events to meet buyers

Individualized counseling on writing proposals, conducting market research, and more

How can Los Angeles County’s PTAC help prepare my business to compete for Federal contracts?

We can help you:

  • Register on the System for Award Management (SAM), the federal government’s vendor database; and/or get on the General Services Administration (GSA) schedule
  • Establish a Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code
  • Identify the relevant North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes for the goods and services you sell, which helps procurement buyers find you
  • Get a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number
