DO:
- Park beside a bicycle rack
- Park in areas specifically designated for bicycle parking.
- Park in areas specifically designated for Device parking
- Park upright in the landscape/furniture zone of the sidewalk
DO NOT:
- Block the regular flow of travel or ADA access
- Park 10 feet within a bus stop; or any other accessible route that would otherwise create a barrier to accessibility
- Block driveways or entryways
- Block curb ramps or crosswalks
- Block construction zones
- Block access to news racks, parking meters, or parking pay stations
- Block fire hydrants, call boxes, utility poles, or traffic signal cabinets
- Park on private property, except as permitted by the property owner
- Park in red curb zones
- Lock to street furniture that requires pedestrian access (for example – benches, parking pay stations, bus shelters, transit information signs, etc.);

Figure 3: Furnishing Zone Illustration. The area shaded in green illustrates the furniture zone where scooters are permitted to park. Note how the parked scooter extends beyond the “shadow” of the trash can, and therefore extends outside of the furniture zone and would be considered incorrectly parked and subject to penalty under this pilot program.
