The South Whittier Community Resource Center (SWCRC), operated by the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs, helps connect residents with services and programs to assist with needs such as consumer counseling, healthcare, legal aid, education, and childcare.
HEAP- Home Energy Assistance Program
Helps provide utility assistance to eligible households to offset the costs of heating and/or cooling in residences. To make an appointment, call (888) 351-4061
Legal Assistance
Legal assistance provided by local non-profit agencies including:
- Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) – Help with re-entry cases.
- Stay Housed LA – Offers assistance with housing matters.
Dispute Resolution Assistance
Assists those with disputes regarding merchant-consumer, landlord-tenant, family, neighbor-to-neighbor, and debt.
Immigration Services
The Los Angeles County Office of Immigrant Affairs provides information and assistance for any immigration-related matters.
Complaint investigation
The Los Angeles County Office of Labor Equity provides help for those who believe they are not being treated fairly in the workplace.
Education
Computer Classes:
Classes available from introductory to intermediate levels, including internet basics, basic keyboard functions, and Microsoft Office programs.
Free Computer Access
Computer stations are available to the public for use to complete homework, search for a job, complete social service applications, and more.
English as a Second Language (ESL) Course:
We offer beginning to intermediate classes in English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills to meet the demands of social, academic, and work settings.
Delete the Divide Ambassadors:
Assists community residents through individual assistance with technology.
Financial Literacy Workshop
Workshops regarding money management, personal finances, investments, and tax planning.
Consumer Education
Workshops regarding financial fraud and scams.
Smarter Senior Forum
Resources from trusted agencies to help you avoid becoming a victim of fraud and to improve your overall well-being.
Immigration Workshops
Workshops regarding immigration services will be provided with more in depth information.
Housing Rights Workshops
Workshops for community members to learn about housing rights as homeowners and renters.
Future Leadership Club
An after-school homework assistance and life skills program for middle and high school students. An enrollment application must be submitted for approval of eligibility.
Homework Assistance Program
An after-school homework assistance program for students in 1st through 5th grade. An enrollment application must be submitted for approval of eligibility.

Health & Wellness
John Wesley Health Center
The onsite clinic offers medical care, physical exams, routine screenings, assistance with medical applications, and treatment of illness to women, children, and men. Health services are provided regardless of an individual’s ability to pay at no-, low-, or sliding-scale costs contingent on the program requirements and available funds. SCU-Southern California University of Health Sciences
Southern California University of Health Sciences’ Los Angeles College of Chiropractic provides chiropractic examinations and adjustments by interns under the supervision of clinical faculty. To make an appointment, call (562) 946-2425.

This program provides food benefits for low-income families, individuals, and seniors so they can purchase food.
