Language Access
ABOUT THE LANGUAGE ACCESS PLAN
DCBA’s Language Access Plan makes sure everyone can get the information and services they need in a clear, respectful, and culturally appropriate way. We offer free and timely language help to people who speak languages other than English, including those who have limited ability to read, write, speak, or understand English. DCBA services are available to all residents, regardless of the language they speak.
WHAT IS LANGUAGE ASSISTANCE?
Language assistance may include interpretation (spoken or signed) and translation (written) to help people access County programs, services, and documents in their preferred language.
SUBMIT A LANGUAGE ACCESS COMPLAINT
DCBA is committed to providing culturally and linguistically appropriate services for all County residents. If you believe the Department of Consumer and Business Affairs (DCBA) did not provide you with the language help you needed (i.e. assistance with interpreting or translating services), you may submit a complaint using our online complaint form or our printable complaint form.
DO I HAVE A LANGUAGE ACCESS COMPLAINT?
Please confirm the following before proceeding with the complaint process:
- Is your complaint about not getting help in a language other than English, like needing an interpreter or a bad translation?
- If YES: You’re in the right place. You may continue with the online complaint form or the printable form.
- If NO: This is not a language access complaint. Please contact DCBA at (800) 593-8222 to report any other concerns.
