The Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs Center for Financial Empowerment is proud to announce the new Leaving a Legacy program. Leaving a Legacy, a partnership between DCBA, Bet Tzedek, and St. John’s Community Health, is a new program aimed at making estate planning accessible to everyone. The program will connect LA County residents with free, trustworthy legal and estate planning services, with the underlying goal of helping families preserve and grow intergenerational wealth.
A common misconception is that individuals need to be wealthy to benefit from estate planning services. But the truth is that everyone, regardless of economic status, can benefit from planning ahead. Estate planning is not just about safeguarding material wealth; it’s about empowering individuals to shape their legacy, protect their loved ones, and ensure their wishes are honored.
The Leaving a Legacy program will help residents in target communities by helping them develop a will, trust, estate plan, or other arrangements for the distribution of their money and property.
You may be eligible for services if you:
- Are a Los Angeles County resident
- Have low-moderate income
- Own Assets (for Estate Planning Services)
- Live in the highest and high need areas of Los Angeles County.
