Our Center for Financial Empowerment (CFE) has launched a new program to reach residents experiencing financial hardship throughout the County.

Financial Navigators can help residents in Los Angeles County prioritize their financial concerns, identify immediate action steps, and make referrals to other social services and resources that may offer long-term assistance. Financial Navigators can guide you through some of the following concerns:

  • Paying for daily expenses
  • Ways to supplement income
  • Paying back money that is owed (or will be owed)
  • Worried about being scammed
  • Special services or resources for you and your family
  • How to stay well and plan ahead

If you live in L.A. County and are facing financial difficulties, you can get started with a Financial Navigator by completing a short online interest form. You can also call (800) 593-8222 for assistance in completing the form.

The free Financial Navigators session will last between 30 minutes to an hour. The Financial Navigator will ask a series of questions to better understand the resident’s concerns and offer guidance and referrals.

The CFE was selected by the national nonprofit organization the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund to help L.A. County residents, and has received a grant fund, training, and technical assistance to launch the new Financial Navigators service.
