The Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs (DCBA) is offering application assistance and free in-language technical support for the LA County Emergency Rent Relief Program as the application deadline approaches. Eligible landlords are encouraged to review program eligibility requirements and submit an application at LACountyRentRelief.com.
As part of the application process, tenants are asked to complete a brief tenant profile after their landlord submits an application. This step is required to confirm basic information related to the landlord’s request and must be completed for the application to be considered. DCBA urges tenants who have been invited to complete a tenant profile to do so before the application deadline. Failure to complete this step may prevent eligible applications from receiving assistance to cover the tenant’s past-due rent.
The tenant profile includes only a limited number of questions and does not ask for immigration status or documentation. Information provided by tenants is not shared with the landlord and is used solely to validate the landlord’s application and not for any other purpose.
Technical assistance is available by phone at (877) 849-0770 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST, with limited weekend support available by appointment. Information about upcoming webinars and in-person assistance opportunities can be found on the program site here.
DCBA will host a final series of in-person information sessions and application workshops to support both landlords and tenants. All sessions will be offered in English and Spanish. Upcoming sessions include:

Directed by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and administered by DCBA in partnership with The Center by Lendistry, the Emergency Rent Relief Program will provide more than $23 million in rental and mortgage assistance to eligible landlords impacted by the Palisades, Eaton, and other wildfires, as well as other emergency-related financial hardships associated with federal actions. In most cases, grant awards may cover up to six months of eligible debt, with a maximum of $15,000 per rental unit. The program is intended to help maintain housing stability and reduce the risk of displacement across Los Angeles County.
