Countywide Dispute Resolution – Volunteers and Training

Los Angeles County Dispute Resolution Services is powered in large part by its network of volunteer mediators. Learn more about volunteers how are making a difference in our communities and how you can become a trained mediator.

Los Angeles County is seeking volunteers to promote peace through conflict resolution, utilizing state assistance to provide mediation and dispute resolution opportunities for local communities and the Los Angeles Superior Court. By providing your details, you allow agencies funded by the California Dispute Resolution Program Act to evaluate if you meet their program requirements.

Options Counseling Workshop

Third Thursday of each month, including Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 21, and Dec. 19, 2024

Online Workshop on Zoom from 6 pm to 7 pm

Please join Loyola Center for Conflict Resolution for a one-hour educational presentation for you to gain a better understanding about your situation and to learn about ways in which you can resolve your dispute, including the option to mediate.

July 2024: Two new mediators complete Basic Mediation Training

Two new mediators hold their certificates with the center director in between

Two new volunteers recently completed Basic Mediation Training at courses held at the South Whittier Community Resource Center (SWCRC).

Christian Marron (left) and Arelia Arellano (right) completed the training and were joined by SWCRC director Sylvia Soto.

Arrelano shared that she is “profoundly grateful for her ability to participate in and contribute to the resolution of community disputes.”
